We are a family owned and operated long day child care centre, which caters for up to 60 children daily aged from 6 weeks to 6 years old. Our centre operates for 50 weeks a year and opens from 7:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

The centre is purpose built and opened in 2008 to win the St George Business Awards Most Outstanding Child Care Service in its first year of operation, and has been a finalist in this category every year since.

We are Accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council Inc and achieved High Quality in all quality areas. In addition, The Cancer Council of NSW recognises Step by Step as a SunSmart childcare provider under its SunSmart Early Childhood Program.

Staff are well qualified and experienced in the range of children's growth and development patterns, allowing them to individualise the daily learning programs. Staff acknowledge that children develop at different rates and each has individual interests, backgrounds, strengths, needs and talents. Our role as educators and carers is to support, encourage and challenge young children as they construct understandings about their world, the people, objects and events in it.

Experiences the children have outside of the centre are incorporated into the planning of learning experiences, which are then explored by the children. We believe in developing culturally inclusive programs and practices in order for children's home learning environment to be reflected. Children are encouraged to develop positive self concepts and to interact confidently with others who are different from them, including individuals from diverse backgrounds regardless of sex, age, class, cultural background or ability.
